Title: How to Feed an Artist; Songwriting, Watercolor, and Creativity

Lisa Biales earned a Masters Degree in Theatre from Ohio University, and works professionally as a musician. Lisa finds inspiration for creating music by taking long walks and communing with nature. Allowing the imagination to take flight when writing is liberating, stimulating, therapeutic, and a great way to process the world. Lisa will explain the creative process behind the songs she has written, her latest creative watercolor series entitled, "A week with Georgia O'Keeffe" and how to consciously stay in the creative flow. Lisa's music has been placed in television and movies and can be heard on iTunes, Pandora, YouTube, Spotify and purchased uptown Oxford at the Wild Berry and online from her website: https://lisabiales.com/

Pinetop Perkins Workshop Experience

Hopson Plantation, Clarksdale, MS

Lisa Biales returns as vocal coach to give private tutorials to each student. For piano, guitar, bass, drums and harmonica, professional Blues musicians will present the music and techniques for playing it. Sorry, no beginning students allowed. Everyone needs to already have a basic knowledge of their instrument. We won't be starting from scratch. Any musician who has been playing seriously for a year or so should be able to make a lot of progress in his or her Blues playing. We require at least two years experience for piano workshop participants. Workshops are open to the young and young at heart - adults welcome! Scholarships are available for youth ages 12 to 21.
